Johnson - Piano

Adam
Johnson studied piano with Ka Kit Tam at the Royal Northern
College of Music, appearing in master classes with Stephen
Hough, Joanna MacGregor and Nelson Goerner.
He
also won a scholarship to study composition with Dr. Anthony
Gilbert, Simon Holt and Elena Firsova and the Edward Hecht
Prize was awarded to him for his Second String Quartet which
was premiered at the Montepulciano Festival in 1999.
Upon
accepting an Honorary Junior Fellowship, Adam went on to further
his piano studies with Martin Roscoe.
His
interest in composition and contemporary repertoire affords
him not only frequent commissions, but also performances of
piano music from 20th and 21st century, most recently appearing
live on Radio 3 performing Magnus Lindberg's TWINE as part
of the BBC Proms/Radio 3 Chamber Music Series. Oliver Knussen
described it as 'a performance of extraordinary detail'.
Adam's
versatility saw him complete a Masters in Conducting at the
RNCM in 2007 and conduct the British Youth Opera in London
in 2008.

Alison
Lambert - Clarinet
Alison
Lambert began the clarinet aged 10, going on to study at the
Royal Northern College of Music before winning a scholarship
to study with Professor Wolfgang Meyer at the Staatliche Hochschule
für Musik, Karlsruhe, Germany.
Upon completion of her undergraduate studies, she went on
to hold the position of Principal Bass Clarinet in the Jerusalem
Symphony Orchestra, Israel, with whom she toured throughout
Europe and South America, also regularly broadcasting live
on Israeli television and radio.
Alison
has performed as a soloist with orchestras such as the Hallé
Orchestra, Hillel Orchestra, Jerusalem, Baden-Baden Philharmonic
Orchestra and Collegium Musicum, Heidelberg. Radio broadcasts
include a live performance as part of the BBC Proms/Radio
3 Chamber Music Series of Magnus Lindberg's Clarinet and frequent
performances with BBC National Orchestra of Wales.
She
has been Clarinet Tutor at the Royal Welsh College of Music
and Drama since 2003.

Duo

Alison
Lambert and Adam Johnson met whilst students at the Royal
Northern College of Music in 1996. They immediately struck
up a great friendship and built on this by performing together
on the concert platform. They were recipients of the RNCM's
John Ireland Chamber Music Prize, the Granada Chamber Prize,
and the Malcolm Arnold Prize for their performance of his
Sonatina, with the composer present. They expanded their musical
partnership with performances for Bath Recital Artists' Trust
and Criccieth Festival.
Since
the release of their debut recording 'to hear', they continue
to be in demand as performers both in the U.K and abroad.
Recent
performances include: Cheltenham Contemporary Concerts, Woodend
Barn Music Society; Aberdeenshire, Imperial War Museum; Manchester,
Jacqueline du Pré Music Centre; Oxford, Welsh Millennium Centre;
Cardiff and Ludwigsburg Festival, Germany.
